Today we would like to introduce you to our new full-time Primary Care Physician at Gateway Medical Center, Merlin Sunny, DO. Dr. Sunny has joined Gateway as of 4/18/2022, please give her a warm welcome!
Dr. Sunny is board-certified in Family Medicine. She completed her Medical Degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO in 2014. She went on to complete her Family Medicine Residency at Research Family Medicine Center from 2014 to 2017.
After completing her residency, Dr. Sunny relocated to California. She has spent the last five years working with a family medicine group in Corona before joining the staff at Gateway Medical Center.
Dr. Sunny values patient centered medical care. She enjoys providing care for the whole family, including adult and pediatric medicine. She has a special interest in women’s health, and management of chronic issues such as diabetes and hypertension. Dr. Sunny’s communication skills are excellent; it has earned her the highest respect among her patients and colleagues alike.
Dr. Sunny enjoys volunteering her time to help others in need. She has travelled to India to set up medical camps in two rural villages (July, 2007), counseled pregnant women in Texas who may have been exposed to environmental or chemical agents (May, 2007 to August, 2007), spent time in Honduras setting up medical camps in three rural villages (December, 2011), and volunteered to provide free health screenings and physicals to children in the underserved community in northeast Kansas City (August 2010 to May, 2012 and in June, 2016).
Dr. Sunny is married. She is fluent in Malayalam. In her spare time, she loves to travel, watch movies, and spend time with family and friends.
Dr. Sunny will be seeing patients in our office located at 710 N. Euclid St., Suite 101 in Anaheim. We are honored that Dr. Sunny has decided to join our team. She will bring her clinical expertise and leadership in promoting our continuous efforts of providing the highest quality primary care to our patients.
